Two ways to buy the same display
Most Samsung flagships and many mid-range models are listed twice in the Rixos catalogue. The Galaxy S24 Ultra (SM-S928) appears as GH82-33396C/33386C in Titanium Yellow and as GH82-33385A/33402A marked "no Frame"; the Galaxy A53 5G (SM-A536) as GH82-28024A/28025A in Black and as GH96-15168A/15224A, no frame. The panel inside is the same. The difference is whether the manufacturer has already bonded it into a chassis.
What "with frame" includes
A with-frame service pack is a complete front unit: display panel, touch digitizer and the middle frame (chassis) bonded together at the factory, with the display flex routed and sealed. Because the frame is the coloured, visible part, these packs are colour-specific, which is why the suffix letters exist: GH82-37049A, B, C and D are the Galaxy A26 5G in Black, White, Lime Green and Peach Pink. Some packs go further and include the battery already fitted; the listing then reads "+ BTRY", as in GH82-24708A/24709A (Galaxy A12, With Frame, LCD + BTRY) or GH82-19747A + BTRY (Galaxy A70, Black, with Frame).
Typical service-pack contents: the bonded assembly with the panel-to-frame adhesive factory-applied and cured, a protective film on the glass, and the manufacturer's code label on the box. What else is in the box varies by model: cameras, charging board and loudspeaker are normally transferred from the customer's phone, and side-key caps are included on some frames only, so ask when it matters. Adhesive for re-sealing the back cover is not always included either, so ask when you need it for a specific model.
What "without frame" includes
A frameless unit is the panel and digitizer with their flex only. The catalogue drops the colour because there is nothing coloured to choose: GH82-36327A (Galaxy S25, no Frame), GH96-13942A/13942B / GH81-24719B (Galaxy S21 5G, no Frame), GH96-11759A/11948A (Galaxy Note9, no Frame). The technician removes the broken panel from the customer's own chassis, cleans it, applies fresh adhesive and bonds the new panel in place. The protective film is still present; frame adhesive must be supplied by the workshop.
When each one is the right choice
| Situation | Order |
|---|---|
| Chassis bent, corners dented, or liquid damage with corrosion on the frame | With frame |
| Warranty or insurance repair where the finished phone must look factory-new | With frame |
| Curved-edge flagship and the shop has no bonding jig or mould | With frame |
| Chassis intact and the customer wants to keep the original frame and labels | Without frame |
| The service pack is only issued frameless for that model | Without frame, plus a separate middle frame if needed |
| Refurbishment line with OCA/bonding equipment and trained staff | Without frame |
Middle frames are available as separate parts for cases where the panel is fine but the chassis is not, or to pair with a frameless display: GH82-33399C (MIDDLE FRAME SM-S928, Titanium Yellow) and GH82-34225A (MIDDLE FRAME SM-A356, Galaxy A35 5G, Black / Navy).
Labour time
With a framed unit the display never leaves its chassis; the job is to move the mainboard, battery, cameras, sub-board, speaker and any side keys not already fitted into the new assembly and close the back. With a frameless unit that transfer is avoided but replaced by heating, lifting and cutting out the old panel, scraping off the old adhesive, checking the frame for flatness, aligning the new panel and clamping it while the adhesive sets. On a flat mid-range screen a trained technician can take either route; on a curved-edge flagship the frameless route takes noticeably longer and needs a mould. We do not quote fixed minutes because they depend on model, tooling and operator; your own bench data from one or two jobs is the right basis.
Risks of frameless fitting
- Cracking the new panel while pressing it into a frame that is not perfectly flat, especially on curved OLEDs.
- Flex damage when routing the display flex through the frame cut-out.
- Dust and lint trapped under the panel if the frame is not cleaned and the work area is not controlled.
- Loss of the water-resistance seal when the adhesive bead is uneven or the panel sits proud of the frame.
- Misalignment, visible as uneven gaps between glass and frame and inconsistent touch response at the edges.
- Heat damage to the OLED or the battery while removing the old panel.
None of these can be claimed as a defective part, so the frameless option is for workshops that have the tooling and the training. For everyone else, and for every job where the frame is in doubt, the framed service pack is the safer unit; it is what we recommend by default for the Samsung S and Z series.
Ordering the right version
State "with frame" or "no frame" explicitly, plus the colour for framed units, when you request a quote. In the Samsung listings the colour field reads "(no Frame)" where the unit is frameless, and some framed listings say so in the title, e.g. GH82-26241A (Galaxy A22 4G, Black, with Frame). If you are not sure which versions the manufacturer issues for a given model code, send the SM number and our team will confirm what is stocked.
